NOTIFY ADDS INTERNET CALL WAITING TO ITS eVIEW INTERNET VOICE APPLIANCE FOR HOME USERS Residential Users With a Single Telephone Line Can Use Call Waiting and Call Waiting Caller- ID Services While They Surf The Internet LAS VEGAS, NV. January 6, 2000 Notify Technology Corp. (NASDAQ: NTFY), a leading supplier of innovative call and message notification products and services, today announced the eView 150icw, its newest innovative Internet Voice Appliance. The eView 150icw combines Internet Call Waiting capabilities with e-mail, voice mail, and Caller-ID notification to create a low cost, enhanced Internet voice appliance that fits into the palm of your hand. The Internet Call Waiting feature allows users with a single phone line to productively use Call Waiting and Call Waiting Caller-ID services while they surf the Internet. The eView 150icw gives the user the option to answer a phone call (up to 10 seconds) while they remain online, creating a temporary virtual second line. Internet Call Waiting Benefits Using the eView 150icw, residential and small office/home office computer users with a single telephone line will be able to briefly answer calls while maintaining their online session. This will reduce the chances of missing an important call or fax without the user incurring the costs of maintaining a second phone line. With the eView 150icw, consumers with Call Waiting or Call Waiting Caller-ID now have a cost-effective alternative to network-based Internet Call Waiting solutions offered as a monthly subscription service. Notifys eView 150icw is ideal for single-line households that tie up their only line for Internet access. The Internet Call Waiting feature will give them an alternative to more expensive network-based Internet Call Waiting options, said Gary Arlen, president, Arlen Communications Inc., a Bethesda, Maryland research organization. How Internet Call Waiting Works
With Notify Technologys Internet Call Waiting feature in the eView 150icw, single line users now will know when somebody is trying to call them or send them a fax while they are on the Internet. The unit provides both an audible and visual alarm to inform the user that someone is calling them. If they subscribe to Call Waiting Caller-ID, the unit will also display the name and phone number of the incoming call. At that time the user can either 1) ignore the call, 2) take the call for up to 10 seconds - enough time to take a message without losing their Internet connection, or 3) decide to take the call and knowingly disconnect from the Internet. The eView 150icw supports Call Waiting Caller-ID, Visual Voice Mail Indication, and Notifys Visual Got Mail service (notification of new e-mail messages), providing the industrys most comprehensive all-in-one notification solution. Visual Got Mail Benefits
Checking e-mail can be time-consuming, and not always convenient, depending on the placement of the PC in the home. Moreover, a user may not check e-mail on a frequent basis and may miss important messages. The eView 150icw easily allows a single user or multiple family members to see at-a-glance who their messages are from and what they are about. The eView 150icw lets consumers manage their message notification more effectively by integrating e-mail, voice mail and Caller-ID notification with Internet Call Waiting in a single Internet voice appliance, simplifying message notification and eliminating clutter. The eView 150icw also allows telephone companies to solidify customer relationships by bundling multiple services into a convenient, easy-to-use device. How Visual Got Mail Works
With the eView 150icw, consumers will have their e-mail accounts automatically checked periodically without turning on their computers. The eView 150icw gives notification of up to ten new e-mail messages for up to five e-mail accounts by displaying the e-mail header which includes the specific e-mail account, the senders name, the subject line, whether there is an attached document and the total number of messages for that account. Users can then decide whether they want to turn on their computer and read their new e-mail messages now or wait until later. About Notifys Visual Got Mail Service
The Visual Got Mail service, announced February 1999, is a proprietary technology designed to operate with all POP3 and IMAP4 e-mail systems as well as other proprietary e-mail systems, such as America Online and Yahoo. The Visual Got Mail service consists of multiple network components and provides communication with the new eView 150icw and previously announced eView 100 and eLight adjunct devices. The eVIEW 100 contains all the notification functionality of the eVIEW 150icw minus the Internet Call Waiting feature and the eLight provides visual indication of new e-mail by flashing a red LED on a small adjunct designed as a Post-It pad holder. Pricing and Availability
Pricing of the eView 150icw Internet voice appliance and the Visual Got Mail service will vary depending upon service provider. Notify plans to offer the eView 150icw and 12 months of the Visual Got Mail service for $99 beginning in the first quarter of 2000 from its online store, www.visualgotmail.com.
