CINCINNATI BELL DEPLOYS EMAIL NOTIFICATION SERVICE USING NOTIFY TECHNOLOGY’S TELEPHONE DISPLAY DEVICE

Without going online, customer can scan incoming emails from their phones

CINCINNATI, OHIO and SAN JOSE, CALIF. – April 28, 2000 – Cincinnati Bell, a wholly owned subsidiary of Broadwing Inc. (NYSE: BRW) and Notify Technology Corp. (NASDAQ: NTFY), a leading supplier of innovative call and message notification products and services, today unveiled eMail View, an email notification service that enables Cincinnati Bell’s customers to view email headers from their phones without going on-line.

"Cincinnati Bell is committed to offering new products that complement our existing services to help customers simplify their lives," said Cori Rothenbach, vice president and general manager of the Residential Market for Cincinnati Bell. "eMail View is a perfect example of a service that will do just that because it gives subscribers a choice to either immediately dial-in to their email accounts to retrieve messages or wait until a later, more convenient time."

How eMail View Works

eMail View, using Notify Technology’s Visual Got Mail service, helps subscribers save time by checking up to three email accounts, such as home and children’s email accounts. The email information can then be viewed on the eMail View display device, a small Internet voice appliance similar to a caller ID box that connects to the home telephone line. eMail View provides notification of up to twenty-five new email messages by displaying the sender’s email address, the email subject, and the total number of messages for that account. Users can then decide whether they want to go on-line and retrieve their new email messages or wait until later.

eMail View subscribers can also create a list of up to 15 email addresses and choose whether notification to the visual display device occurs only when new email comes from those addresses or, conversely, choose not to receive notification when new email comes from those addresses.

Residential users can check for new email up to four times a day as easily as checking their answering machine or voice mail. The device also provides caller-ID information and voice mail message notification if customers subscribe to those services.

"As an industry leader in providing innovative, value-added features to their customers, Cincinnati Bell is a great partner to launch our mass market deployment of Visual Got Mail service," said Paul DePond, president and founder of Notify Technology. "We are pleased and excited to work with Cincinnati Bell to deploy our Visual Got Mail service as well as our Internet voice appliance for their email notification offering."

Cincinnati Bell will contract with Notify Technology to provide ongoing support for subscribing customers.

eMail View’s Offering

eMail View, an optional value-added service, is available immediately to residents in Cincinnati Bell’s operating area at a cost of $3.75 per month. Customers interested in learning more about eMail View should call 513-565-2210 or visit Cincinnati Bell’s web site at www.cincinnatibell.com.
