Mobile Self-Administration

Portal Access

  1. To access the User Self-Administration Portal, the user would need either an Internet enabled mobile device or an Internet enabled PC and enter the following address:
    http://companyMDMserver/mobile


Portal Security Actions

  • Possible security actions include: Locate Device, Get Recovery Password, Lock Device, Full Wipe, Selective Wipe, Wipe Storage Card , and Install Certificate.


Mobile User Self-Administration Portal – Security Actions per Device Type

  • Android: Locate Device, Lock Device, Wipe Storage Card

  • BlackBerry: Locate Device, Lock Device, Selective Wipe, Wipe Storage Card

  • iOS: Locate Device

  • iOS w/ APNS Certificate: Locate Device, Lock Device, Selective Wipe, Clear Passcode, Install Certificate

  • Palm: Locate Device

  • Windows Mobile: Locate Device, Lock Device, Selective Wipe, Wipe Storage Card

  • If any device type has enrolled through ActiveSync and their device type is known, then the options for Full Wipe and Get Recovery Password will also be available.


Action Issue Prompt

  • Users must confirm their action.


Locate Device Prompt

  • The 'Yes' link will open a Google Map URL with the provided Latitude and Longitude coordinates.
    The coordinates are also shown in the case that mapping is not functional on the device being used.


Locate Device Results

  • This screen shows what happens on an iPod Touch when a user chooses to locate their device.


Password Recovery

  • If a user has created a recovery password from their device, they can use the User Self-Administration Portal to view it and unlock their device. If the user has not created a recovery password, they will be notified.
