Notify International Carriers:

NotifyLink "Tip Of The Month":

1. When configuring filters, there is a default action that must be configured for items that do not match the criteria of the specified filters.  You want to ensure that the option is set to "Send" and not "Hold". The hold feature will prevent all email messages from being sent unless that message meets a requirement for a filter that is set to send.

2. International customers who are unable to use TCP or BIS when downloading the latest Blackberry client can still use the OTA installer.  Simply choose to install version 4.0.0 from the OS listing. This will install notifylink from the browser like the previous client so the carrier's network setting can be used.

3. With Daylight Savings Time around the corner, check your device for any patches or Operating Systems updates that may need applied.

**Remember** If you have performed a hard reset or restored your device to default factory settings, you may need to install the DST update again...

NotifyLink Top FAQ's Of The Month
:

Q:  How do I remove the new Blackberry 4.5.6.103 client from my device?

A:  Go into the new Notifylink installer. Next bring up the menu and go into advanced.  Bring up the Menu one more time and select Uninstall Notifylink.

Q:  I received an email that there was a new version of NotifyLink available for download on my BlackBerry.  I've downloaded it, but now I have a new icon, and my NotifyLink email program is still the same older version.

A:  We have completely redone our NotifyLink Client for BlackBerry.  If you're familiar with NotifyLink on Palm devices, our new client comes with an "Installer program" that is downloaded to your BlackBerry.  This is the new icon you see.  Select the Installer program to continue.  This will update your BlackBerry to the new client.  Once the Installer Program is selected, bring up the menu and select "Check for Updates".  This will start your update process.

Notice now that we are downloading all of the modules for the new client.  Once done downloading, you will now install the new client.  A pop-up will come up again and tell you that we are installing all of the new modules.  Once completed, your new client is ready to go.  Also, if you wish, you can remove the Installer Program once complete.  To do this, go into the 'Options' then select 'Advanced Options' then 'Applications'.   In this list, you will see our NotifyLink Installer Program.  Just highlight the installer program, bring up the pop-up menu, and 'Delete'.

Issue:

I recently upgraded my NotifyLink Server to version 4.5.  I can see that I am getting Calendar Events down to my device, but the PIM stats still show PIM Login Failure.  The time on it also shows from before the upgrade.

Resolution:

With the upgrade to 4.5, we have found that one of the tables in the NLES_IMAP4_POP3 database does not always update successfully.  If you are seeing this issue, you can look at the table to verify if an old column exists.  Run the following query in Query Analyzer:

Select errorcode from PIMStatus

If you see results from this query, the old column was not successfully removed.  Simply run the NotifyLink Installer again for the SQL Database Component, and the issue should be resolved.
